Liberty Choir Radio

MJ and Ginny, the co-founders of Liberty Choir, have been working on Liberty Choir Radio – a weekly radio show with elements of the live weekly rehearsals in prison which have been postponed during Covid-19.

Apart from breathing and vocal exercises, musical history, civil rights history and profiles of different composers and singers, there is participation from all our stakeholders and more. Volunteers are recording messages of support and stories of daily life, Liberty Choir graduates and their families are sending their messages of solidarity which are so heartfelt from those who were once inside, high-profile supporters and others are doing readings or recording songs along with their messages, and include: Mishal Husain, Robert Bathurst, Michael Morpurgo, Jenny Agutter, David Gilmour and Polly Samson and family.

We will be sharing some of these messages in the circles over the weeks so keep checking into our Liberty Choir Lockdown page. Click and listen to a mash-up from our first three shows which will give a flavour. Some new extracts will be available soon, as we are now entering our 13th show (as of July 1st).
